Creating significant local and regional impacts

RAISE provides capital investments in surface transportation to create local and regional impacts on economic strength, competitiveness, equity, and sustainability.

The Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program supports projects that improve safety, economic strength and global competitiveness, equity, and climate and sustainability.

RAISE is intended for capital investments in surface transportation that will have a significant local or regional impact. Specifically, the Department of Transportation is looking to award projects that address greenhouse gas reduction goals, promote energy efficiency, support fiscally responsible land use and transportation efficient design, increase use of lower-carbon travel modes such as transit and active transportation, incorporate electrification or zero emission vehicle infrastructure, environmental justice, particularly for communities that disproportionally experience climate change-related consequences, racial equity, and creation of good-paying jobs.
