Growth for transit stations to improve access

This program funds tribal communities to provide public transportation on or around reservations and tribal lands.

This program provides direct funding to federally recognized Indian tribes to provide public transportation service on and around Indian reservations or Tribal land in rural areas. Specific types of projects include capital investments for startups, replacement, or expansion needs; operating assistance; and planning projects.

Federally recognized tribes may use the funding for capital, operating, planning, and administrative expenses for public transit projects that meet the growing needs of rural tribal communities. All activities eligible under Section 5311 are also eligible under the Tribal Tranit Program (TTP).
